Salvo Sallustro, the rider and Carabinieri officer injured in the serious crash at the Manx GP: here’s how he’s doing

The Manx GP has already recorded two deaths, but there is a third rider who is fighting for his life. Salvo Sallustro, a Carabinieri officer originally from Noto and serving in the province of Vicenza, is still hospitalized in a medically induced coma in Liverpool.
In addition to serving in the law enforcement, as a motorcyclist he is a multiple champion in the European Road Race Hill Climb (which he competed in the Superbike and Supermoto classes), a multiple Italian CIVS champion, an instructor at the 4S Riding School and in Krav Maga, and a protagonist in various international competitions, such as the Manx GP. The latest news comes from the former president of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia, who through his social channels wanted to share more about the situation and send the support of the entire region, given that Sallustro works there and has built his life there with his partner and their little girl. In the meantime, the Manx GP will continue with this schedule: due to the poor weather conditions forecast on the Isle of Man from Wednesday, August 26 onward, the program has been condensed into the next four days.
The latest update after the serious accident at the Manx GP
A Carabinieri corporal serving at the Brendola (VI) Station, Salvo Sallustro is hospitalized in a medically induced coma at Liverpool Hospital after the very serious accident that occurred on Sunday on the Isle of Man. Salvo has lived and served in Veneto for years, where he has built an important part of his life, between his service in the Corps and his great passion for motorcycles. He is also a European Superbike champion: just a month ago, in Spoleto, he clinched a title he had been chasing for a long time. A man used to fighting, on the track and in life.
Now, however, the most important race awaits him: returning to his little girl. After the crash, which occurred on the first lap at Greeba Bridge, he was urgently airlifted to Liverpool and underwent a delicate surgical operation. Today he is in a medically induced coma, with a guarded prognosis. The most recent reports indicate he is no longer in life-threatening condition, but the road back to his life and loved ones is still long. His partner has asked all of us to pray for him.
