Daytona SportBike Road Atlanta: Aquino in pole provvisoria

Il primo giorno di prove sul circuito di Road Atlanta per la classe Daytona SportBike ha visto è l'uno-due del team Graves Yamaha con Tommy Aquino davanti al compagno di squadra e leader della classifica Josh Herrin. Per Aquino, si tratta di un piccolo ma importante punto fermo in quello che può risultare il week-end di rilancio per le sue ambizioni di titolo nella categoria, dopo lo sfortunato inizio della stagione 2010.

Per Herrin invece, il fine settimana a Braselton è un'occasione in più per rafforzare la leadership in classifica generale, visto anche il cattivo risultato del suo primo inseguitore, il pilota Suzuki GEICO Powersports e campione in carica Danny Eslick, soltanto ottavo.

In difficoltà le GSX-R 600 sul particolare circuito dello stato della Georgia, con il solo Martin Cardenas capace di restare nella top 5. Il colombiano, pilota M4 Suzuki, è riuscito ad ottenere il terzo tempo in qualifica a poco meno di un decimo di secondo da Aquino.

A seguire troviamo il duo composto da Clinton Seller e Dane Westby del team di casa Project Atlanta 1 Yamaha, davanti a Cory West con la Suzuki Vesrah Racing, Danny Eslick, e alla Ducati 848 del giovanissimo Bobby Fong.
