Mattia Pasini was involved in a nasty crash yesterday at the 100 KM dei Campioni. Nothing serious; the rider soon reassured everyone about his condition.
The 11th edition of the competition at
Valentino Rossi’s Ranch came to a premature end for
Mattia Pasini. A crash during the Sprint, a mini-race exceptionally included in this 100 KM dei Campioni (held again at the end of the year and not in January,
as it also was at the start of 2025), put him out of action, with a subsequent
“little helicopter ride”, as Pasini himself called it, to the hospital for all the necessary checks. The 40-year-old from Rimini took it upon himself to reassure everyone through a brief social media story, as we showed in the cover photo and as we present here in full. He did not forget to thank the medical staff in particular for their tireless work, in this case to ensure the riders’ safety. Without going too far back, let’s remember the prompt intervention by Dr. Charte and his team in Sepang, which literally saved the lives of Noah Dettwiler and José Antonio Rueda!
How it’s gone so far at the Ranch
Qualifying, the new Sprint, and the Americana (elimination race). That’s what happened on Friday, with three different names on pole and in triumph across the two races. Let’s go in order: pole position went to
Diogo Moreira, a
historic Moto2 champion, who edged out
Valentino Rossi, Elia Bartolini, and Marco Bezzecchi. Then came the mini-race, briefly halted due to the aforementioned Pasini incident, and later resumed. The host made this edition’s novelty his own, followed by his younger brother Luca Marini and Elia Bartolini. Next up was Friday’s final act, the Americana, which Marini had dominated indisputably in recent editions. Had dominated, indeed—this year a new name shone: Bartolini prevailed over Diogo Moreira and Senna Agius. Today is the final day of action at
Valentino Rossi’s Ranch; we’ll see who will succeed the pair Moreira–Chareyre, who triumphed in the 10th edition last January. Below are all the pairings of the contenders.
