A few weeks after the announcement, the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull
Ducati Factory Racing team, which will officially represent Ducati Corse Off-Road in AMA Supercross, AMA Pro Motocross, and SuperMotocross, has finalized its rider lineup. Justin Barcia and Dylan Ferrandis will be tasked with taking the Desmo450 MX to the top in the American knobby-tire racing circus.
BARCIA FROM GASGAS TO DUCATI, STILL WITH TLD
From 2021 to 2024 fielded by the Troy Lee Designs team, Justin Barcia will move from GASGAS to
Ducati. In recent months “BAM BAM” has already drawn closer to the Borgo Panigale manufacturer, even spending days training last summer together with
Tony Cairoli. "
I’m excited to be part of this project," Barcia admitted. "
I find it thrilling to return with the TLD team and see so many familiar faces. We’ve shared fantastic memories together and now we’re ready to give it our all to fight for the podium and the win."
AN AMA PRO MOTOCROSS 450CC CHAMPION WITH DUCATI
Coming off two seasons with Phoenix Honda, Dylan Ferrandis will be the other rider to compete on the
Ducati Desmo450 MX. After moving to the States, the American motocrosser secured two AMA Supercross 250cc titles, and also captured the AMA Pro Motocross 450cc title in 2021. "
I’m very happy to race with Ducati in their first season in AMA," Ferrandis said. "
It’s an iconic brand and I’m excited to reunite with Troy Lee Designs: they were one of my first sponsors back in my 85cc days in Europe. The bike is incredible and with the team, Factory Connection, and everyone involved, I have no doubt we can achieve great results."
THE TEAM STRUCTURE
The Troy Lee Designs Red Bull
Ducati Factory Racing team will be managed by Josh Wisenor, with the two Desmo450 MX bikes overseen by the genius of Rick "
Ziggy" Zielfelder of Factory Connection. While Red Bull will be the title sponsor, the partners also include Chip Ganassi Racing, a motorsport institution across the Atlantic.
