What happened to the now former Pierer Mobility group has scaled back the sporting plans and programs of the KTM, GASGAS, and
Husqvarna brands.
While GASGAS has essentially disappeared from the scene (it will remain, for another month, present in Trial),
Husqvarna will still be actively involved in Motorsport in 2026. In particular, in Motocross with ambitious goals between the World Championship and the AMA circus.
HUSQVARNA RETURNS TO MXGP
Although there was initial talk of Husky disappearing from the Motocross World Championship, in 2026 it will actually double down. Relying on the Nestaan team, it will return to the top
MXGP class after a season away, fielding 2024 MX2 World Champion Kay de Wolf. The flying Dutchman has already raced at home with the FC 450, feeling right at home on the four-and-a-half after success on the quarter-liter. Nestaan
Husqvarna Factory Racing will also continue in MX2 with Liam Everts, in steady and progressive ascent in 2025.
HUSQVARNA’S REBOOT IN AMA
The brand’s commitment to the AMA circus was never in question. Across the ocean, the
Husqvarna brand is particularly appreciated in the market, and for that reason it hasn’t been absorbed into KTM’s racing efforts. Thus in 2026 the official Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team will be on the grid as usual in both 450cc and 250cc, across Supercross and Motocross.
FIRST WIN OF 2026 ALREADY IN THE BAG
In the top class, all eyes will be on Malcolm Stewart, who in 2025 claimed his first AMA Supercross win and, more recently, took the prestigious Supercross de Paris. “
Mookie” is in great shape and will be the spearhead of a project that will extend to the 250cc with three riders. From GASGAS come Ryder DiFrancesco and Casey Cochran, while Daxton Bennick arrives from Yamaha. Three young prospects who will be overseen by Nathan Ramsey, a former successful motocrosser across the Atlantic and now the new Team Manager of Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna Factory Racing.
