World Superbike, Jerez Test results: how it went today
The fastest Superbike time was set by Alex Lowes with the Bimota KB998 Rimini. After a Day 1 in which the team had only fielded test rider Xavi Fores, today they put both factory riders on track. The Briton clocked a best lap of 1'37"825, while his teammate Axel Bassani finished sixth, 0.759 seconds behind.
Second fastest was
Xavi Vierge (+0"234), who continued his adaptation work to the Pata Maxus Yamaha
WorldSBK R1. In third place we find Michael van der Mark, BMW test rider who finished ahead of the factory riders Danilo Petrucci (fifth at +0"645) and Miguel Oliveira (eighth at +1"065). This should surprise no one, as the Dutch rider knows the M 1000 RR very well, while the newcomers only began getting to know it on Wednesday.
In fourth position Andrea Locatelli with the other Pata Maxus Yamaha R1, while the GYTR GRT team’s R1 ridden by Stefano Manzi is seventh. The rookie and 2025 Supersport world champion completed over 70 laps, valuable for his learning. At the bottom of the Superbike standings were the Honda riders, in this time order: Somkiat Chantra, Tetsuta Nagashima, and Jake Dixon.
