Today the entry lists of the riders who will take part in the upcoming Superbike, Supersport, and Sportbike championships have been released.
After the split from the Pata Go Eleven team, many doubts arose about Andrea Iannone’s future in the Superbike World Championship. The 36-year-old rider had stated that he was working, together with his manager Gelete Nieto, on an important and not very specific project. This morning the entry list for the 2026 season was published and the name of the Abruzzo-born rider appears: he has registered with the Cainam Racing Team and is expected to ride a Ducati Panigale V4 R. Until now, this team had never been mentioned. We’ll see if details emerge in the coming hours or days.
Superbike World Championship 2026: Iannone is in, Petronas MIE Honda is not
While awaiting updates regarding Iannone, it should be noted that the Petronas MIE Honda team is missing from the Superbike grid roll call. This is not a surprise, as in recent weeks there had already been talk of the possible absence of Midori Moriwaki’s squad in 2026. It must be said that the entry list is provisional; we’ll see if there are any updates soon.
As for the rest, everything is confirmed. In the SBK championship there are 22 riders across 14 teams. In Supersport there are 33 riders, with 21 teams ready to compete. In the new Sportbike category, on the other hand, 33 riders across 18 teams. We should witness a 2026 season full of spectacle.
There is also anticipation to see whether any news will be announced regarding the technical regulations and potential moves by
Liberty Media, the new owner of both MotoGP and
WorldSBK.
