A new Ducati project, still on two wheels but not motorcycles, leveraging the experience of Elia Viviani, Vincenzo Nibali, and Lorenzo Suding. A project dedicated to the development, production, and distribution of a new and broader range of high-performance bicycles by
Ducati has been launched. A choice that goes well beyond “classic” two wheels—whether on road like MotoGP or
Superbike—and into the Motocross sector, confirming and strengthening the path taken in 2018, when the Borgo Panigale company decided to enter the world of e-bikes, following a vision that brings together cycling and motorcycling. Two parallel universes that share terrain, riding dynamics, and a passion for speed, competition, and the sense of freedom.
The range’s development is being carried out by drawing on the experience and sensitivity of standout Italian cyclists such as Elia Viviani, Vincenzo Nibali, and Lorenzo Suding. The project was created in collaboration with Diamant S.r.l., a company in the Zecchetto Group, an Italian entity that brings together excellent brands in cycling footwear (DMT), technical apparel (Alè Cycling), and the production of carbon and composite components (Diamant Compositi).
The new high-performance bicycle range, which will include road, gravel, and mountain bikes (the latter with pedal assist), will be unveiled starting in March 2026, offering a broader selection of models inspired by
Ducati’s principles of style, sophistication, and performance. The project also includes a line of accessories and technical apparel dedicated to each specialty, designed specifically for the new Ducati bikes.
A project with top-tier sprinters
Elia Viviani, one of the most successful and versatile Italian sprinters of his generation, boasts over 90 professional road victories and an extraordinary track career, crowned by the Olympic title in Rio 2016 and the world gold in the elimination race in Santiago 2025. With his experience and technical vision, he will oversee all development phases as Project Consultant.
“After concluding my professional career, I was looking for a project that could excite me and represent a new challenge. Supporting the Cycling Project is a great source of pride for me. The long-term goal is to bring the brand’s sporting soul into cycling, creating bicycles that embody the values of Ducati and of sport.” Vincenzo Nibali, among the greatest champions of modern cycling, is one of the few athletes to have won all three Grand Tours: the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de France, and the Vuelta a España, and he boasts victories in Monument classics such as Milan–San Remo and the Giro di Lombardia. Drawing on his experience and deep knowledge of the competitive world, he will work alongside Viviani in developing the road range and related sporting projects, bringing his vision of performance and competitive spirit to the initiative.
“I’m thrilled to be part of this ambitious project. I have always had a great passion for motorsport and, for me, Ducati has always been a benchmark in terms of performance, innovation, and design. Being able to contribute to the growth of such an iconic brand in the cycling world as well is a true honor.” For the off-road world,
Ducati will collaborate with various athletes, including
Lorenzo Suding, multiple Italian Downhill Champion and a leading figure in the Italian mountain biking scene, who will support the evolution of the e-MTB range.
“Quality and emotions comparable to motorcycles”
Claudio Domenicali, CEO
Ducati Motor Holding Spa:
“With this new project we want to strengthen our presence in the cycling sector. The collaboration with Diamant, together with the contributions of standout Italian cyclists such as Vincenzo Nibali, Elia Viviani, and Lorenzo Suding, allows us to develop high-performance bicycles designed to offer enthusiasts a level of quality and emotion comparable to that of our motorcycles. We arrive at this step after a journey built with Thok, whom I would like to thank for the valuable work done together over these years.”Philippe Zecchetto, CEO Diamant Srl:
“We are proud to stand alongside Ducati in this new chapter dedicated to the world of bicycles. The collaboration between our organizations stems from shared values and the pursuit of excellence. Putting our know-how in the cycling sector and our structure at the service of a brand like Ducati represents an extraordinary opportunity to create products that embody outstanding performance and unique style.”Enthusiasts will be able to purchase the new
Ducati bikes both at selected dealers within the Borgo Panigale company’s sales network and at specialized cycling retailers.
