Morbidelli hits Espargaro on the grid and is out, Bagnaia “punted” by Zarco... Plot twists right from the start of the Valencia GP!
Unbelievable at the start of the Valencia Grand Prix—even before the lights went out. As the riders lined up on the grid,
Franco Morbidelli made an incredible blunder, narrowly avoiding taking out others as well... Afterwards, Pecco Bagnaia had truly no luck, getting shoved into the gravel by a huge mistake from Johann Zarco! A terrible season finale for the two-time MotoGP champion after a 2025 to forget... Here’s what happened in Valencia.
Careful, Morbidelli!
Before the start, right after the sighting lap that precedes the race, we had quite a mess.
Franco Morbidelli ran into the blameless Aleix Espargaro, who was lining up in his grid slot. The Ducati VR46 rider also nearly clipped Marini and then went down: recovered by the marshals, he did manage to start, but with a damaged D16. He eventually retired, apparently also with an issue to his left hand. Espargaro’s Honda wasn’t doing great either, even shedding a piece on the grid before the start...
Bagnaia, luckless 2025
When it rains, it pours—especially for
Pecco Bagnaia... Barely underway (we’re talking the first corners of lap one), the Ducati Lenovo rider fell victim to a major mistake by Johann Zarco, as you can see in the footage below. Bagnaia ran wide into the gravel and eventually crashed, closing out a season best filed away and forgotten. He’ll need to work hard over the winter to rediscover top form—a two-time world champion certainly hasn’t forgotten how to race! Surely Bagnaia and his crew will tackle the issue and do everything to solve it, aiming for a very different 2026!
