Double commitment with Kawasaki for Xavi Artigas in the 2026 season: in addition to the Sportbike World Championship, he will race with Team Bolliger Switzerland in the Endurance World Championship.
Next year will bring Xavi Artigas an unusual double duty. Just days after announcing his move to the new Sportbike World Championship with MTM Kawasaki, the 22-year-old Catalan rider simultaneously reached an agreement with Team Bolliger Switzerland for the 2026 FIM EWC Endurance World Championship. The reigning CIV Supersport runner-up will make his debut in endurance motorcycle racing, further strengthening his ties with Kawasaki.

KAWASAKI CURE

Taken under Kawasaki’s wing after being left without a ride due to the well-known legal case involving the Preicanos Racing Team in Moto2, Xavi Artigas bet on the Ninja ZX-6R 636 project to race this year in CIV Supersport with Black Flag Motorsport. Fighting to the very end for the tricolor plate ultimately won by Luca Ottaviani, the former Grand Prix rider earned a 2026 promotion to the Sportbike World Championship under the MTM Kawasaki banner, Akashi’s reference team in the series.

ENDURANCE DEBUT

As a deep connoisseur of the Ninja ZX-6R 636 (as is well known, also homologated for the Sportbike World Championship), Xavi Artigas will make a run at the title in WorldSBK’s new entry class—but not only that. Tightly linked with Kawasaki, he will also line up in the FIM EWC with Team Bolliger Switzerland. In line with his primary commitments in WorldSPB, the native of Sant Andreu de la Barca will team up on the #8 Ninja ZX-10RR with the confirmed Nico Thoni and Alex Toledo, plus Kylian Nestola as reserve.

ARTIGAS’ WORDS

Endurance will be a brand-new challenge for him, although last summer he had the chance to take part in the 24h Moto Barcelona-Catalunya Martimotos, finishing second with Kawasaki Català Aclam. “I’m happy to announce that I will be joining Team Bolliger Switzerland for the 2026 season,” said Xavi Artigas, coming off a late 2025 stint in the Moto2 European Championship with MMR (3rd in Valencia). “I can’t wait to discover the world of Endurance. I’m ready to give my all to repay the team’s trust. It will be very meaningful for me to race alongside Alex Toledo, a friend as well as a rival since childhood.”

TEAM BOLLIGER

The longest-standing team in Endurance by all accounts, Team Bolliger Switzerland is gearing up to tackle endurance motorcycle racing for the 45th consecutive year. Already World Vice-Champions in 2005 and 2010, the outfit currently led by Kevin Bolliger (son of historic founder Hanspeter Bolliger) savored the joy of the podium again with third place at the 2025 Bol d’Or. With the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR bearing the iconic number 8 symbolizing infinity (inverted), the goal for the 2026 FIM EWC is to improve on last season’s seventh place in the championship.
