MotoGP: Ten Kate conferma l’accordo con Gresini

La “CRT” del team Gresini per la stagione MotoGP 2012 prende forma: pilota Michele Pirro, ciclistica realizzata da FTR Moto, motori Honda CBR 1000RR preparati da Ten Kate. La conferma ufficiale è arrivata direttamente da Ten Kate Racing Products, divisione riservata ai clienti sportivi della formazione pluri-campione del mondo Superbike (titolo nel 2007 con James Toseland) e Supersport (8 titoli in bacheca), con l’annuncio riportato sul proprio sito internet ufficiale.

Today TKRP did sign a contract with Gresini MotoGP to be the supplier for engine and electronics for their CRT bike in 2012. Gresini will participate the new 2012 CRT series with 1 rider. Chassis expert FTR will develop the new CRT chassis where TKRP will supply the race engines and electronics.

Engine and electronics will be based on the late 2011 WSBK specifications and during the season developed to suit the CRT bike. Of course the CRT bike will also use the latest fly by wire technology as developed by Ten Kate Racing and used by Jonathan Rea during the last WSBK races of 2011. With this new system the team manage to achieve some impressive results with 2 pole positions, 1 race win, and 2 3rd places.”

Curiosità, per Michele Pirro si tratta di un “ritorno” con Ten Kate: nel 2010 è stato pilota ufficiale nel Mondiale Supersport conquistando la vittoria a Imola in sella ad una Honda CBR 600RR.
