From the "Champions in Celebration" event comes the answer to recent rumors about a possible departure of Tardozzi as
Ducati MotoGP team manager: here’s how things stand.
Davide Tardozzi will continue to serve as team manager of the
Ducati Lenovo MotoGP team in 2026 as well. Some reports in recent days had cast doubt on his staying, but today during the celebration in Bologna everything was clarified.
MotoGP 2026, Davide Tardozzi remains Ducati team manager
The Borgo Panigale manufacturer had posted on social media two photos of Tardozzi and Gigi Dall'Igna together with the caption "
Divorce? 💍 Discover more at 12.00 pm ⏰". That was already an early hint that no split was planned between him and
Ducati. Some had leaked that there was friction with Gigi Dall'Igna, but the two even hugged on stage at the "Champions in Celebration" event in Bologna, where the Ducati team manager dismissed the recent rumors.
Tardozzi will continue in his current role in 2026 as well, hoping
Marc Marquez confirms the level shown in 2025 and that Pecco Bagnaia returns revitalized, able to go head-to-head with his teammate. Together with Dall'Igna, he will also have to deal with the rider market, with Marquez’s renewal clearly a priority for 2027–2028. Also Davide Tardozzi hope to extended his relationship with
Ducati Corse till 2028.
Renewing Marc’s contract is not simple, because it requires a lot of money and, in the background, Honda seems determined to bring him back. HRC let him go at the end of 2023, agreeing to terminate early the contract that would have expired the following year, but now hopes to convince him to return. In 2027 there will be new technical regulations and a new tire supplier, so it will be practically a fresh start and riders will also need some luck in backing the right project.
