It may not be AMA
Supercross, but it’s not the parish trophy either. In Vancouver, the stage for the second round of the 2025 FIM-sanctioned World Supercross, Eli Tomac made his race debut as a Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider and took the win. ET3 prevailed on the Canadian night, kicking off his orange adventure in the best possible way.
FROM THE ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE FIRST KTM WIN
Ten days after the bombshell announcement of his switch from Yamaha Star Racing to KTM, Eli Tomac didn’t miss on his first outing in orange. In Vancouver he won Race 1 and the final, edging out Ken Roczen (on Suzuki, winner of Race 2, but hampered by a start to forget in the decisive showdown), thus claiming the overall event victory ahead of the German-American himself and Jason Anderson, who took bronze in his second appearance with Pipes Motorsports Group Suzuki.
A SPECIAL KTM FOR ET3
Eli Tomac competed in Vancouver as the reigning FIM WSX World Champion, having taken the title last season on a Yamaha. On this occasion, in addition to running the number 1 plate, he had a KTM 450 SX-F expressly developed to his (non-negotiable) demands. From the beloved cable clutch to a legendary, ultra-tuned engine. “The most powerful ever built in Mattighofen for this bike,” said those directly involved. Tomac will also work with Jade Dungey, Ryan’s brother and, for several years now, a mechanic with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team.
ORANGE ARMADA
Now, KTM and Eli Tomac have their sights set on the 2026 season, where he will look to return to winning ways after a turbulent 2025. An
AMA Supercross champion with Kawasaki and Yamaha, at 32 he’ll take on a new challenge in a true dream team completed by the confirmed Aaron Plessinger and Jorge Prado, back with KTM.
