The confirmation of Izan Guevara and rookie Alberto Ferrandez: here is the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha line-up for their second year in Moto2.
One confirmation and one debut for Pramac Yamaha in Moto2 as well, just like the MotoGP team. Izan Guevara, fresh off his first win in the class at yesterday’s Valencia GP, is hardly a surprise confirmation; on the other side of the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha garage comes an arrival from the European Moto2. Alberto Ferrandez has already had a first chance to step into the World Championship: let’s recall his wild card at Misano with Team Ciatti-Boscoscuro, the squad with which he’s also wrapping up his final season in the FIM JuniorGP category. After their rookie year in the class, the team led by Paolo Campinoti (Team Principal), Gino Borsoi (Team Director), and Alex De Angelis (Team Manager) is gearing up for a 2026 with greater confidence, energy, and a strong desire to be protagonists.

The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 project

An enthusiasm shared by Yamaha as well, not a bike supplier in Moto2 but always a partner of the structure, an extension of the MotoGP collaboration that started this year. “The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team is an exciting project that we launched this year,” emphasized CEO Paolo Pavesio. “With the help of Pramac Racing, combining Yamaha’s long-term vision, outlined in the The Blue Shift plan, with the proven success of the BLU CRU program. BLU CRU is Yamaha’s global program dedicated to identifying and supporting up-and-coming riders across all disciplines. It offers structured growth opportunities through training, mentorship, and racing experience, helping riders become professional athletes capable of competing at the highest levels of the sport. Pramac Racing, with its proven track record in developing and producing world-class talent, is the perfect team to lead Yamaha’s intermediate-class effort.”

The 2026 team

There’s no lack of satisfaction, particularly for Izan Guevara, who started quietly but showed outstanding growth, culminating in yesterday’s triumph at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo. “He has shown great progress,” Pavesio stated. “His adaptation to the bike and the team has grown over the course of the season, and we are confident he will continue to improve further in 2026.” As mentioned, on the other side of the garage there’s a new face for the structure. “We are excited to welcome Alberto Ferrández, a rider who has already demonstrated exceptional potential in JuniorGP and embodies the spirit of Yamaha’s talent development strategy.” Finally, a farewell to Tony Arbolino, who is leaving the team. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his contribution in 2025. We wish him every success in the next chapter of his life. Looking ahead, we are determined to make the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team a benchmark for nurturing talent and achieving excellence on the world stage.”
