After the contract renewal with YART Yamaha in the FIM EWC fell through, Jason O'Halloran returns to the British Superbike Championship: he will race the 2026 season with Honda Racing UK.
Welcome back, "O'Show"! Jason O'Halloran, fresh off a triumphant 2025 with YART Yamaha, leaves the FIM EWC Endurance World Championship to rejoin Honda Racing UK in British Superbike. The Australian rider will team up in the 2026 season with the already-announced Ryan Vickers, completing a top-level line-up to bring the CBR 1000RR-R back to the forefront of the BSB.

DOUBLE HOMECOMING

Despite helping clinch the FIM EWC title, Jason O'Halloran was not retained by YART Yamaha, with Leandro Mercado taking his place. After evaluating several options for next year, the Wollongong native chose a return to British Superbike as the most suitable path. Moreover, he’ll do so in Honda Racing UK colors, the outfit he raced for from 2015 to 2018, where he achieved his first BSB career win at Snetterton in 2016 aboard a CBR 1000RR SP.

O'HALLORAN'S WORDS

"At the end of 2024 I left British Superbike for various reasons, mainly to try to become World Champion. Racing in Endurance and fulfilling the dream I’d had since I was a child was incredibly emotional. After achieving that goal, it’s time for me to have another go in BSB, where I have unfinished business", admitted Jason O'Halloran, who for years contended for the title with McAMS Yamaha without ever securing the #1, amid missed opportunities and misfortune. "I was only willing to return under certain conditions. Doing it as a World Champion, and moreover with the Honda Racing UK team that served as the springboard for my career, is the icing on the cake".

HONDA RACING UK'S PLANS

Honda Racing UK will therefore contest the British Superbike Championship with the new pairing of Jason O'Halloran and Ryan Vickers, while also continuing its British Supersport program with five-time series champion Jack Kennedy—and more. The Louth-based team is also set to compete in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 with Dean Harrison, as well as in the major road races with the same "Deano" plus the evergreen John McGuinness.
