Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup getting closer with an Italian team: more details revealed last weekend at EICMA in Milan
The logo unveiling, a first look at a prototype, and confirmation of three teams, one of which is Italian. During EICMA in Milan, held last weekend,
Harley-Davidson revealed further details about the
Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup, a new series that will run alongside the 2026 MotoGP World Championship over six rounds. After the official announcement last August (and almost a month after the confirmation of
MotoE’s discontinuation, which it will replace), the new series of “bagger bikes,” an American specialty brought to Europe already in 2025 and from next year also to the world stage, is taking shape.
New details
On the cover is the first image of the bike, along with the new logo—but that’s not all. The names of the first teams have already been announced by Harley-Davidson at the EICMA press conference: notably, the very Italian Cecchini Racing, led by Francesco, a multi-time flat track champion, and his father Fabrizio, a technician with World Championship experience. The other two teams confirmed so far are Saddlemen Racing (United States) and Joe Rascal Racing (Australia).
As mentioned, this new World Cup will take place during six
MotoGP Grands Prix, marking a new chapter in the World Championship and in Harley-Davidson’s sporting history. The new logo represents an evolution of the brand’s iconic Bar & Shield design, combining its tradition and heritage with a modern, international identity for motorcycle competition.
The 2026 calendar
The Championship will unfold over six Grands Prix across as many MotoGP race weekends. Two races are scheduled at each round, so riders and teams will contest 12 races in total. It’s a new challenge that will bring Harley-Davidson back to some of the most iconic circuits in the world. Note that the brand is not new to Grand Prix racing—on the contrary, it has a significant history in the World Championship, which we will share later. In the meantime, here is the calendar.
