Marc Marquez, present in Valencia, received the BMW award for the best qualifying results this 2025 season. MotoGP World Champion and BMW winner for the number of pole positions in 2025.
Marc Marquez truly won everything in his redemption season in MotoGP. This second title had already been secured last weekend during the Portimao GP but, given his absence, he was awarded today in Valencia, right after qualifying. He didn’t miss the chance for a quip to comment on another valuable recognition for the Catalan champion in 2025.
Shopping and MotoGP
“We were out grocery shopping. I was checking the sessions on my phone and Gemma [my girlfriend] was picking up things for lunch,” Marc Marquez said, laughing, to motogp.com after the ceremony. A joke that connects to the one he made ‘live’ last weekend, when he teased his little brother.
“I saw that image of Alex in the box and realized I had won the BMW award. We’ve won many in the past, but it was a long time ago... Another award, I’m really happy.” As mentioned, Marc Marquez had already clinched it mathematically at the end of qualifying in Portimao, by 8 points over Alex Marquez and 41 over Fabio Quartararo in 3rd.
Support in the Ducati box
We’ll have to wait a bit longer to see him back on the bike;
Marc Marquez has no intention of returning early and is waiting for medical clearance. As seen in recent days at a sponsor event for Estrella Galicia 0.0, he’s without a brace—certainly a boost that’s needed in the Ducati camp, since there has been little to smile about so far. Pecco Bagnaia didn’t shine either yesterday or in qualifying, and will start only 16th both in today’s Sprint and in tomorrow’s GP. As for
Nicolò Bulega, this is only his second official outing with the Desmosedici, so no miracles are expected—he’s getting to grips with the job ahead as a test rider.
