Double challenge to follow: Jacob Roulstone will be one of the protagonists of Australian Superbike, a commitment parallel to MotoJunior Moto2.
To think that in the last Moto3 GPs he was making constant appeals because he was without a seat... He didn’t find one in the World Championship, but Jacob Roulstone is certainly not left on the sidelines, as he will take on a double challenge in the 2026 season. The second is officially announced today: the 20-year-old Australian will in fact compete in the national Superbike riding a Honda CBR1000RR-R, with support from Motocity and Honda Australia. In the photo he’s with his new boxmate Marcus Hamod. The possibility of being left without a ride was real; Roulstone himself bitterly admitted he had nothing in hand, even though his family and management were working on it. After the deal for the Moto2 European Championship in MotoJunior with Team Ciatti-Boscoscuro for a major relaunch opportunity, here’s another chance to race as much as possible in 2026.

A double fresh start

An opportunity both to get to know the Boscoscuro with a future eye on the World Championship, and now to get acquainted with a Superbike. Not bad as a “restart” after a 2025 that was tougher than expected. A delayed start due to a fracture with displacement of the C3 vertebra in his neck in January, followed by a long recovery and slowed preparation, forcing him to miss all the winter tests and even the first two Grands Prix of the new Moto3 season. The potential glimpsed at the end of 2024 was therefore not easy to show amid all these difficulties and, with seats constantly being announced across various teams, Roulstone’s position grew increasingly complicated. His appeal on the eve of his home Grand Prix—complete with eloquent signs—was striking, further shining a spotlight on his situation. At the end of the season he also posted some interesting results, a growth process that was then halted by a crash in Malaysia resulting in a fracture of his left wrist. He missed Portugal and gritted his teeth in Valencia to at least wrap up his Moto3 World Championship adventure on track. Now an especially compelling double new challenge awaits him.
