Izan Guevara a special guest at Yamaha’s private tests in Valencia. The Pramac Moto2 rider tried the M1 for the first time.
A lap on a MotoGP bike as a reward for the spectacular victory achieved last Sunday in Valencia. Izan Guevara delivered the first win to the BLU CRU Pramac Moto2 team, an offshoot of the MotoGP squad making its debut this year in the intermediate class of the World Championship. After Manuel Gonzalez, exceptionally fielded by Trackhouse Aprilia months ago, and Celestino Vietti hosted by VR46 Ducati in the MotoGP tests at Valencia in place of the injured Morbidelli, here’s another Moto2 rider who got the chance to try a premier-class machine.

Promise kept

As stated in the Pramac note, "At 11:38 today Izan Guevara climbed aboard the 2025 YZR-M1 for the first time." A nice spin on the MotoGP bike as the consequence of a promise made by team manager Gino Borsoi during the Malaysian GP: if Guevara won a race before the end of the season, he would earn this reward. The Spaniard didn’t waste time: last weekend in Valencia came the team’s first historic win in Moto2, and consequently Yamaha kept its promise, making one of Jack Miller’s “old” M1s available to him, still with the inline-four specification, while of course today the four factory riders of the MotoGP teams were back working on the V4.

Guevara in ecstasy

"Getting on a MotoGP bike is a goal for anyone who wants to become a professional rider; being able to live this experience is truly a dream come true," said the BLU CRU Pramac Moto2 rider, fresh off a renewal through 2026. "This morning I had a briefing with Jack Miller’s technical team, who explained how the bike works and how to manage braking and acceleration. The power of this bike is incredible. I was really surprised by the acceleration. Even before shifting, I could feel there was still more power, which is impressive. The feeling in the corners was fantastic; the bike is smooth and easy to handle. On the straight, I truly understood how much power it has and what it must be like to manage it over an entire race. I had so much fun! A sincere thank you to Yamaha and also to Jack for lending me his bike and his team."
