Darryn Binder says goodbye to the World Championship, his future lies in Supersport in
MotoAmerica. The details
Farewell to the World Championship, the
MotoAmerica chapter begins. This is the new destination for
Darryn Binder, who in 2026 will move to American Supersport aboard the Ducati Panigale V2 of the Celtic/Economy Lube + Tire By Warhorse HSBK Racing team. Thus ends a long stint in the World Championship across Moto3, MotoGP and Moto2, short on satisfaction (one win, five podiums in 11 seasons) and cut short this year due to physical problems. Notably, Binder will be the fourth South African in the
MotoAmerica paddock, alongside Mathew Scholtz, Cam Petersen (from whom he “inherits” team and bike) and Dominic Doyle.
“Bringing Darryn into our Supersport program is an important step for our team,” commented Barry Gilsenan, head of
Celtic Racing, which since last year has partnered with Bobby Shek’s HSBK Racing.
“He has competed at the highest levels of this sport and knows how to fight in very competitive fields. His experience, attitude, and natural speed will help raise the level of the entire program. Our partnership with Economy Lube + Tire and Warhorse HSBK Ducati continues to strengthen, and we are approaching the new season with maximum commitment in pursuit of victories. We are proud to welcome Darryn.”
