After wrapping up his World Championship stint, Redding returned to BSB—and it proved the best choice at this stage of his career.
On October 20, 2024, it was announced that Scott Redding would also race in 2025 with the MGM Bonovo team, but switching from a BMW M 1000 RR to a Ducati Panigale V4 R. Three years on the German bike hadn’t delivered the hoped-for results, and he was happy to get back on a machine with which he had taken podiums and wins in the 2020–2021 Superbike seasons.
And to stay on the World Superbike grid with a competitive package, he even made a financial commitment. It was a choice made in the hope of having such a strong season that he could return to a team able to pay him properly. After a promising start, he even went so far as to declare that he wanted to fight for the title and dreamed of an offer to return to the Aruba Ducati team.

Superbike, how Redding’s return to Ducati went

Pre-season tests were encouraging, and at the first SBK 2025 round at Phillip Island the results impressed: fifth in Race 1, fourth in the Superpole Race and Race 2. The British rider seemed to have made the right bet to relaunch himself in the World Championship, but in the following rounds the performance wasn’t at the same level. Between Portimão, Assen, Cremona, Most, Misano, and Donington he collected only five top-10s, without doing better than sixth place (Superpole Race at Assen and Race 1 at Donington).
After rumors of financial problems and tensions between Redding and the MGM Bonovo team, the parties ended their relationship ahead of schedule. The rider was tired of not seeing results, and after seven rounds he took stock of the season with a negative assessment, choosing to step aside and seek a fresh start elsewhere. His Ducati Panigale V4 R ended up in the hands of Tarran Mackenzie, though he kept riding one nonetheless.

Scott back in BSB: the right choice

Alongside the announcement of his departure from the MGM Bonovo team and World Superbike, came news of his full-time return to BSB. He had already raced the Knockhill round as a replacement for the injured Glenn Irwin with the Hager PBM Ducati team, which then signed him for the rest of the championship and also confirmed him for 2026.
Despite missing the first three rounds due to his World Superbike commitments, Redding finished fourth in the 2025 BSB standings. He returned to fighting for podiums and wins, even stepping onto the top step and rediscovering something he had been missing for a long time. Returning to the British championship was exactly what he needed to rediscover the joy of racing. He’s in a team that puts him in a position to be competitive, and in 2026 he could aim to be champion again, just as he managed on debut in 2019.
With his World SBK experience closed—complete with controversy over Alvaro Bautista’s weight—Scott is now focused on BSB. He has a clear mission: have fun and win.
