Starting at 10:00, another Moto2 rider will take to the track for the Valencia test.
Celestino Vietti (SpeedRS/Boscoscuro) will be the second rider for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. The reason is the injury to Franco Morbidelli’s left hand sustained in Sunday’s race, which led the team to offer the Piedmontese rider the opportunity to take part in today’s official MotoGP test at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, alongside Fabio Di Giannantonio. The VR46 Riders Academy rider will try a MotoGP bike for the first time – the Ducati Desmosedici GP, a little “gift” at the end of the season. The first of the two scheduled sessions starts at 10:00, with the final checkered flag at 17:00.
Celestino Vietti is therefore ready to share the track with the stars of MotoGP, and curiosity won’t be lacking. Even though most of it will inevitably be focused on Toprak Razgatlioglu and Diogo Moreira, the two high-profile rookies for the 2026 World Championship. The three-time Superbike world champion and the historic Moto2 champion are gearing up for a serious challenge next year; for now, it’s just a chance to start getting to know the Yamaha Pramac and the LCR Honda respectively. Yamaha, moreover, is beginning its new era after officially announcing the end of its historic inline-four to align with current MotoGP philosophy, namely
the much-discussed V4, developed for months and taken to the track by test rider Augusto Fernandez for several important wild cards. It will be important to start evaluating lap times—there’s great anticipation in both garages. Let’s not forget the presence of Nicolò Bulega, called upon to continue testing the Desmosedici after his first significant outing during the two GPs he contested in place of the injured Marc Marquez. Honda has also just gained C concessions, so many changes are coming. There’s no shortage of talking points—we’ll see what happens at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia.
