For almost three months
Marc Marquez hasn’t been on a bike. Specifically since the injury during the MotoGP weekend at Mandalika, shortly after clinching the MotoGP title at Motegi. Since then, the Ducati champion has meticulously followed the doctors’ recommendations, but the break is about to end...
Marc’s caution
Marc Marquez had asked to take part in the MotoGP test in
Valencia to try the not-yet-final Desmosedici GP26. The doctors strongly advised him against taking to the track, and this time he didn’t hesitate to sit it out. His shoulder is steadily improving and seems ready for the next step: getting back on the bike to train ahead of the first winter tests in Sepang.
The champion in Madrid
The Cervera superstar was one of the main figures at the 20th COE Gala in Madrid, where the Spanish Olympic Committee honored the best Spanish athletes of the year. Number 93 received the “Heart of Spain” award and revealed key points of his recovery: “I’m coming back from another injury. We had just finished the championship and in the next race, because of another rider’s trip-up, we got injured again. I’ve been recovering for three months. This Sunday it’ll be three months; they told me that in three months the bone would heal. So next week we’ll start getting used to the throttle again.”
Renewal and tenth title
A nice Christmas present for the MotoGP champion, who in 2026 will set his sights straight on the tenth world title of his career. The coming months will also be decisive for renewing his contract with Borgo Panigale. Ducati will have to offer much more financially to secure
Marc Marquez’s performances. It remains to be seen whether he will still be paired with
Pecco Bagnaia in the 2027–2028 race biennium...
