2026 is shaping up to be an important year for Fermin Aldeguer. Backed by a direct contract with Ducati Corse, the Murcian rider hopes to earn the red DesmosediciGP for the future, building on the sensational debut he experienced with the BK8 Gresini team. To fulfill this goal, the 2025 Rookie of the Year is leaving nothing to chance.
ALWAYS ON TRACK
He proved it in recent days. Right after "Champions in Celebration" in Borgo Panigale, Fermin Aldeguer took his Ducati Panigale V4 S and hit the track in Almeria for a training day in the days leading up to Christmas. Nothing unusual so far, except that he rode together with amateur motorcyclists during a track day organized by Bike Promotion Europe.
IN ALMERIA WITH THE AMATEURS
To the amazement of those present, Fermin Aldeguer shared the track with other amateur or semi-professional riders. In a track day open to everyone, like a Sunday session, like a "regular" motorcyclist, despite the upcoming Christmas holidays. The Ducati Gresini standard-bearer is not the first and won’t be the last rider to do so, although it’s becoming less and less common. Lately, MotoGP riders wait for exclusive (or near-exclusive) booking days to train, avoiding riding with amateurs.
FERMIN ALDEGUER’S COMMITMENT
Fermin Aldeguer’s dedication is undoubtedly commendable, making him one of the most active riders even during this holiday period. Some are on Flat Track (
Marc Marquez returning together with his brother Alex and Diogo Moreira), others on Motocross (Pedro Acosta), while on track in addition to the Murcian we’ve also seen Ai Ogura (in Japan at Okegawa) and Maverick Vinales, the latter following his new coach Jorge Lorenzo’s instructions to the letter.
