Cervera is ready to welcome its champions. After five years of waiting, the Marquez brothers return in style to celebrate the successes of a historic MotoGP season with the public of their hometown. Marc Marquez is the new world champion, Alex the surprise runner-up. Together they have written a new page in the history of motorcycling.

Marc Marquez 2.0

The 2025 title was Marc Marquez’s first MotoGP crown since breaking his right humerus in 2020. The move to Ducati delivered the hoped-for results; the plan devised two years ago, when he decided to leave Honda, has been carried through. "It’s a different Marc," explained the nine-time world champion. "I won’t say it’s a better Marc because the other Marc was winning too. It’s the same Marc with different strengths. Now we can say I have a different arm, a different physical condition, a different mentality: you have to adapt; you can’t ride like in 2013."
Years go by, injuries leave their mark, and changing bikes demands a different riding style. Yet Marc Marquez has managed to adapt and win like a true superstar. All that’s left is to wait for the Mandalika injury to heal and for the next championship to begin. "I’m fine and at the moment the doctors are happy," the world champion told MotoGP.com. "So that’s the most important thing. This new injury hasn’t affected the previous ones, and the fact I have the whole winter ahead means the doctor, the physiotherapists, and I will go through all the steps with a bit more caution. This injury didn’t come at the right time, because it was time to celebrate, but it came at the best time: everything was done, everything was wrapped up."

The day of celebration in Cervera

This Saturday, November 22, Cervera will dress up to celebrate the two riders who achieved an incredible feat in the MotoGP class. The day will begin with a reception for the Marquez brothers at Cervera City Hall, followed by a greeting to fans from the building’s balcony. These more formal events will give way to a large fan gathering, starting with a convoy of 200 motorcycles led by Alex and Marc. The latter will avoid taking risks, as he is coming off an injury. The convoy will depart from Plaça de la Universitat and arrive at Plaça Magdalena de Montclar.
Once in the square, Alex Marquez will have the task of making the streets of Cervera roar and will put on a show with his Ducati Desmosedici GP24, with which he will cover a stretch of about half a kilometer. "Bringing my Ducati to Cervera, the one with which I achieved so many good results this year, and letting my people see it, hear it, and experience it up close is a dream. It will be a unique moment and a special way to thank them for all the support they gave us to achieve this one-two."

The grand finale

To conclude the celebration, the brothers will take to the main stage, where they will be joined by several guests and by DAZN journalist Izaskun Ruiz, who will act as master of ceremonies. The event is free for all fans coming to Cervera, and two giant screens will also be present so as not to miss any detail of the festivities. "This one-two is an achievement that belongs to Cervera. Coming back here, seeing this affection, and celebrating it with my brother is the best way to put the finishing touch on an incredible season. I can’t wait to feel the people’s energy again." The event will be broadcast on DAZN’s Spanish channel from 11:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
