Tourist Trophy: annullata la quarta giornata di prove, domani le prime gare

Girano solo i Sidecar

Doveva esser una giornata di prove importante per l’edizione 2011 dell’Isle of Man TT, la penultima in programma prima della disputa delle due inaugurali gare di sabato 5 giugno tra Superbike e Sidecar. Purtroppo per i protagonisti del Road Racing non c’è stata la possibilità di prender contatto con il Mountain Course, complice la presenza d’olio nel tratto da “Kirk Michael” e “Alpine” e conseguente cancellazione della sessione delle “Solo”, posticipata al seguito dei Sidecar per le 19:50 locali. Partiti in ritardo rispetto al via fissato alle 18:20 locali per un incidente stradale nei pressi di “Ginger Hall”, i Sidecar sono così riusciti a percorrere non più di due tornate del “Mountain” prima dell’esposizione della bandiera rossa, con il risultato di trovare Klaus Klaffenbock (campione del mondo della specialità nel 2001 nonchè titolare del team Klaffi che vanta trascorsi nel Mondiale Superbike) ed il passeggero Dan Sayle, vincitori lo scorso anno, ancora in testa con il sidecar Honda 600cc scendendo sotto il muro dei 20 minuti in 19’55.96 (113.572 mph). A seguire a breve distanza in classifica figurano l’esperto e rodato equipaggio John Holden/Andrew Winkle in 20’06.05 (112.623 mph) e Conrad Harrison/Mike Aylott in 20’28.70 (110.546 mph). Va ricordato che i Sidecar sabato affronteranno la prima gara di due gare in programma sulla distanza di 3 giri alle 15:00, preceduti alle 12:00 dalle Superbike. L’unico ad avvantaggiarsi di conseguenza è stato Keith Amor, caduto mercoledì tra le Superstock rimediando un colpo alla spalla sinistra, che tornerà regolarmente in sella alla Fireblade di Honda TT Legends in giornata cercando di recuperare dalla provvisoria settima posizione in classifica. In testa nella classifica combinata nei primi 3 giorni di prove svetta così Bruce Anstey (Padgett’s Honda) arrivato alle 129.695 mph mercoledì, seguito da Guy Martin (Relentless Suzuki by TAS) in 129.333 mph e da John McGuinness, autore del miglior tempo personale in 129.041 mph martedì 31 maggio. Il nostro Stefano Bonetti con la Kawasaki Superstock è 17° assoluto arrivando a 121.307 mph con la possibilità di migliorarsi oggi nell’ultima giornata di prove con il via per le “Solo” fissato alle 19:40 locali.
